Jewellery trends - what to wish for

This summer, I went to the Copenhagen jewellery fair and show, to see all the new jewellery as well as the trends coming up in the following seasons. In this post I have gathered some of the jewellery trends, I find the most interesting and useful for us, fashionistas. I have chosen to use primarily Nordic brands as I really want to support our own designers, but a few international ones has been added as well. You can see all the links for the different designers below.
The four trends:

The first trend is pearls or what could look like pears. Pearls are back in fashion and it's not the old fashioned style but in a new more modern look on the classic pearl. Here you should go after the the more quirky look, a different styling that wont make you look too classical. For example add more than one pearl earring to your ear like Pernille Teisbæk or wear the pearl ear cuff from Sophie Bille Brahe. You could also go for the pearl shape, the organic round shape, as you see at Trine Tuxen, even &Stories made some similar ones and Georg Jensen also has some in the classic collection. SO if you like organic, round shapes, this is the trend to go for! Remember styling is key in this trend, you shouldn't look to classical!

This is my favourite right now, I love rosegold and the dark almost black look in the silver (Ruthenium). I have already put the rosegold ring and earrings from Jane Kønig on my Christmas wishlist and I already bought the Bijules nail ring. First of all, for themselves the colours are great but together they are even better, take a look at Paula Hagerskans og Charlotte Mielko (she has made different combinations of this particular ring), which both has combines the colours in their pieces. There is something about the rawness of the dark silver and the sweetness in the rose gold, that really matches great. Rosegold has been trendy for a while but will keep being trendy, just like copper in the home and kitchen. This trend is for the person, who likes to mix and match, who is tired of silver and gold, and wants something new.

Grrr Baby! Animals have always been in and out of fashion especially animal prints. But prints are luckily not something we see much of in jewellery, but more the pattern and feel and details that look like animals. One fabric or skin we will see a lot more of is Stingray, the fish, as we see at Louise Eeg. The look could look like a snake but it's more rounded and shiny. It would appeal to those who are normally not into animal skin or patterns as this is more subtle. The snake has been here for q a while but is still trending and even more designers are joining this trend, my favourite is still our Danish grand old Ole Lynggaard. Are you more into the darker, macabre and diverse look, you should take a look at Zarah Voigt and if you're into the more classical, you should take a look at Cartier and then after checking the prices go for some vintage look a likes. You can never go wrong with vintage animal jewellery, I got lucky in Berlin and bought an even better looking cougar ring than Cartier's. Animals are for the fun person, the person who likes animals and colours.A person that dares to be different and loves to show it off.
This trend I really like, everything is allowed and you never know what to expect of the jewellery, how it could be worn or what it has hitten. Treokai, is this amazing Danish designer who made a collection with inspiration from Japan, every jewellery is a piece of art. I have the earring on this board and I love it, it's such an statement piece! Josefine Bruus is still a student, but already know she has great potential as she keep changing her style and refining it. I love her acrylic spine piece and hope soon to have a little money to justify me buying it ;) Eddie Borgo has been in the game of r while and lately he has made these fabulous rings, which is nothing less than a statement of great style in my eyes. Vibe Harsløf, most of us knows, both because she has been a part of the avant garde jewellery scene in Denmark for years and she has done jewellery for the Danish designer Wackerhaus' shows. Her collections also keep getting stronger, I especially like her shapes as her jewellery are made to fit the body and embrace it. An.No is new in the game, but she has potential with a secret jewellery that can contain a little letter or taken form your loved ones. A lovely idea! Bergner und Schmidt I found in Berlin, their jewellery is made in concrete, which gives the jewellery a completely different look and feel, it's very interesting and promising.
This trend is for the daring, the person who like the attention of the details. A person that likes to wear different pieces, pieces that embraces the body and can be worn differently or be personalized. it's all about creativity.
