Wali Mohammed Barrech is Pakistani/Croatian with a German background, born and raised in Karachi in Pakistan. He has just showed his first collection, after graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp last year, in Copenhagen during the fashion week.
I was really amazed by this collection, first of all the bloody theme was interesting and macabre all in one but his creativity surrounding the fut styles was surprisingly good and right in my alley of fur designs. I think often fur designs can be too traditional and classic and I have often missed some quirkiness, avant garde and diversity within this area of design and fabric. I love the different colour details he has used within the fur as well as the mix with other fabrics, it's a modern twist on the more classical fabric, fur. I love the fact that the items can be worn both as a masculine or feminine personality and that you will be able to match it to whatever you would wear together with these styles.
Wali Mohammed Barrech is definitely one to watch and I love we slowly are getting more and more creative and avant garde designers back on the Copenhagen Fashion Week, they have been missed for years now and finally we have some to be inspired off, to market Denmark as a fashion capital and to stir up the business once again. I would definitely wear some of his styles and even though I am not the most "furry" person, I could wear one of these fur items!
