I have been chosen to compete as a healthy icon at Woman which I am very happy about. Though it also meant to go through a photo shoot in underwear! I went for the shoot a Thursday in the beginning of January and was very excited about it all. We (five other women) were to act like real models, being dolled up in make up and styled in underwear from Simone Perele.
The Make up artist and hair stylist was from United Make-up Academy, one of them being sweet and creative Line Ahnstrøm. She really understood my style and went for orange lips and dark eyes for my look, which I love!
The women from Simone Perele fitted us all in nice underwear from the same brand, most of us of course had the wrong sizes already and I could really see the different afterwards in the new underwear. Ones breasts were suddenly like a young girl, I loved it!
I still don't feel comfortable in so little clothes in front of others and most of the other "icons/models" were a lot smaller in size than me, actually I was the only plus sized woman. But being one of the chosen icons I had to overcome this fear or feeling and do it.
Posing and being in front of the camera I have tried several times before and with the very nice crew at Woman, it didn't feel that bad. Though I had to concentrate a lot, as we should both smile and pose and for me own sake try to look at little slimmer and less like the "Michelin man". All these things while sitting down, is actually were difficult! I had fun with the camera and tried all sorts of poses, though only the appropriate ones as in underwear, you can't really move as freely unless you want to look tacky, sexy or something not so appropriate.
As the shoot went for a whole day, from 9-16:30, Woman had prepared several enjoyments as magazines, fruits and sweets like croissants and chocolate as well as a nice lunch.
Art Director Maria had a plan evolving about some glitter, we had loads of fun with it, and us "models" were just happy to know that we shouldn't clean it all up again!
All that glitter!
This was how my make up look after my portrait shoot, I was photographed without glasses so that we could get the most expression from out of my face.
The magazine will be out tomorrow, Thursday , in your local kiosk. I haven't seen the image yet or the text following it, so I am really excited to reading and seeing the magazine.
And don't forget to vote for me as a healthy icon, as it is a competition!
