This was my first time at a Jean Philip show, though I have known his designs for some seasons now because my good friend at Hummel, designer Henrik Horak has told me a lot about his (Jean Philips) collections. I was really looking forward to seeing his show and rumours told us that he had done some female designs as well. And the location couldn't be better, as it was in one of Nimbs beautiful rooms.
I was really in for a treat, the collection was beautiful for both men and women, I was really impressed by his designs and the detailing like the "eyes" on the hats, raw edges, tailored look, leather pockets, the cool patterns and the choice of colours.
As a lot of other Danish designers he has a thing for dark colours, which is no problem for me especially when it's a AW collection. Other than black he had chosen an almost royal blue colour for men, which worked very well on the catwalk and for sure out on the streets as well. The only pattern used, for both men and women was this tie diy black/dark grey, white, green one. The pattern work really great on the products also for the suit (for men) though it would really require a MAN to wear it! The women's styles with the pattern would be much easier to wear and would work great for both work and as evening wear.
I must say I loved the womenswear collection and could properly buy them all, but my favourites were the patterned pants and shirt.
