Tampopo

Yesterday after visiting the jewellery designer, I met with my boyfriend to have something to eat. After an email correspondence with Tiffany, the founder of Silver Spoon (Guerilla Dining), I decided to give my boyfriend a different experience and we went to try out a new Japanese restaurant, Tampopo- a pop restaurant in the city.
We were there quite early because of the "extremely" bad weather, so we decided to eat early to get some warmth and relaxation for the day. That meant we were the only one in the restaurant, which suited us very well.
I loved the décor, simple but with lots of atmosphere. The food was excellent and different from what you usually get in Denmark when you go for Japanese food (which mostly end up by being sushi). It was really tasteful and we both felt comfortable with the amount of food, no one was left hungry.
We were especially happy about the ramen, we choose one vegetarian and one with pork. Both had so much taste and flavour, which we really enjoyed. I especially liked my Naruto maki's in my vegetarian ramen, though I would have preferred a little more of them!
The dessert was very different and not what we had expected, but both tasty, even though the only time we eat/drink coffee is when it is disguised in a Iceblend/Frappacino or in a Italian Tiramisu. But the Coffee jelly tasted a bit like a more fluid Tiramisu and the cake a little like a Danish sponge cake. Not bad at all!
I really think you get your moneys worth and if they had a bigger menu, we would properly visit Tampopo again. I am excited to hear about Silver Spoons next projects and hope for something similar in concept, I like it very much!

Here is the course menu, which they will be serving at Tampopo:

Chicken or Tofu Karaage
Karaage points to a Japanese technique where the item is marinated, lightly coated in flour, then deep fried. This results in a low fat/oil exterior and moist and delicious center.

Ramen, 2 bases:
Chicken stock with soya
Bonito stock with miso

2 toppings:
Vegetarian
Naruto maki | egg | nori | Chinese cabbage | bean sprouts | spring onions | corn | pickled ginger | fried sesame

Braised pork neck
Egg | spring onions | nori | Chinese cabbage | pickled ginger | fried sesame

Coffee jelly with cream & Matcha cake
A dessert often found in coffee shops throughout Japan.
Matcha, pulverized green tea, is synonymous with Japan and Japanese cuisine.
Put together, we have created a play on the Danish version of 'coffee and cake.'

Price:
Ramen - 100 kr
2 courses - 155 kr
3 courses - 170 kr

If you want to try this restaurant, you need to be quick as it closes the 20th of October this year!

We had to drink a Japanese lemonade for the dinner, so we ordered a Kimura ramune. You will properly have the same fun as we did, this bottle is really a mystery as it has a glass ball inside and how to open it, is really interesting! Well, we had fun with it and it tasted really great a well!
 Vegetarian ramen
 Pork ramen
My boyfriend thinks that I always take pictures of him eating, so this time I was up for a eating shoot! Notice the beautiful Naruto maki in my chop sticks.
